How An Updated HVAC System Benefits You

HVAC units can work well for a long time, but as they age they run into more and more problems—problems which may not be cost-effective to fix. Inefficiencies and frequent breakdowns may be draining your wallet and aggravating health problems. If your HVAC equipment is over 10 years old, it may be to your benefit to upgrade to a new system.

A New System Reduces Your Energy Bill

Your older system is most likely running inefficiently due to normal wear and tear over time. This inefficiency means it needs to work harder to keep your home comfortable, costing you more money on energy bills. Modern HVAC units are designed with efficiency in mind, so they’ll use less energy to heat and cool your home, reducing your utility bills.

Simple Ways Save Money

Cleaner & Healthier Air For Your Home

Older HVAC systems can become filled with dust and dirt from the years of circulating air. They are also more prone to harbor dangerous bacteria, mold and fungi. When any of these particles are circulated by your HVAC unit, they can result in bad indoor air quality, which may lead to health issues such as:

  • Increased allergy symptoms.
  • Agitation or worsening of existing asthma.
  • Coughing.
  • Fatigue.
  • Headaches.
  • Sinus infections.

Is getting a new HVAC system worth it?

Evaluate the efficiency and expense of your present system. You want an HVAC system that is more than 80 percent efficient. If your present model is inadequate, a new one will reduce your monthly expenditures.

With a modern heating and cooling system, consumers may save up to 20% on their utility expenses. This sort of home repair will significantly increase the market value of your property.

Do new HVAC systems save money?

A new HVAC unit that is Energy Star certified and has a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 14 or above can drastically lower your monthly energy use. This can lead to huge annual savings.

A SEER rating is a metric that divides an air conditioner's cooling output over the cooling season by the energy it consumes (Watt-Hours). This computation establishes the unit's maximum efficiency. The higher the rating, the better the system's energy efficiency. The US Department of Energy is requiring a minimum SEER rating for all new HVAC systems. The minimum necessary rating varies by geographical location, although in most states, it is about 13 or 14.

With the installation of a new HVAC system, the air quality in your home will be greatly increased, and you’ll be much less likely to suffer from problems associated with mold, mildew and contaminants gathering in your air conditioning and heating system.

Tyler and Carter were efficient, helpful, and courteous. They walked us through our new system and explained everything so we could use and maintain the system after they left. Great experience!

Brady and LT (and the entire Western Heating & Air Team) have been amazing through a less than ideal scenario. Our outdoor unit with our ductless system was having issues and completely went down on two occasions. Once they figured out the issue, they got a warranty claim in process and quickly got the new unit installed (Brady and LT are true professionals and pros at what they do). Our family feels in good hands with Western Heating and Air, and appreciate all the compassion and hard work to help us through this less than ideal scenario with the problems we had with the outdoor unit. THANK YOU!
