Great Service

During a recent cold snap, our new Amana furnace stopped heating and was just putting out cold air. I called Western and they were able to get a technician out to assess the problem. A couple of safety relays went out to prevent any damage to the furnace. The parts had to be ordered, but the technicians were able to bypass the safety devices and provide us heat until the parts came in. As soon as the parts came in the fixed the problem, also replacing the filter at that time as they said it should be changed. I received prompt and professional help at a crucial time because by wife is very ill and is need of being kept warm. Relatives came to our aid during the lapse of heat, with portable heating units which we used until the repairs were made. I would, however, appreciate a report of billing on the repairs which were done. I only received a billing on the filter which was replaced. The work was covered on warranty, but I would still like a copy of the service report for my records. thank you.

Great service!

I called around 1:30 in the afternoon and they were able to send someone out by 4:00pm. Furnace required a part which the technician called someone to bring out to the house. Part was installed and work was done by about 5:45pm. Jose was very polite and helpful. I definitely recommend this company.

First year AC tuneup

I came to do an ac tune up. They do not have an air scrubber. I quoted $950 for the air scrubber that includes his discount. He is going to think about it. I did a 29 point ac tune up. I replaced the filter. The ac is ready to run this summer.

Came out for prepaid msc ac tune up. While I was here I flushed both water heaters and relit pilot light for each one. Ac found temp split was higher due to home not having a heat load on it. Found no other issues with ac today. All electrical components are testing properly and working properly. See health report card. System was working properly when I left the call.

Came to residence for prepaid WSC tune-up on a '14 ac system. Equipment functional upon arrival. Upon inspection of the outdoor condenser, I found all electrical and mechanical components are operating properly. All measurements are within manufacturer specifications and the unit is in good shape. I cleaned off a lot of webs, dirt, and debris from the electrical panels and washed off the condenser. Moving inside, I found the 16x25x1 filter was dirty and replaced it with a homeowner provided filter. The blower wheel and evaporative coil are fairly clean. All other parts are in good working order and the temperature split is good, indicating a good level of refrigerant. See health report card for any specific information. I mentioned we now offer annual water heater maintenance as part of the Western Savings Club. The homeowners declined for now but may consider in the future. Equipment functional upon departure. Thanks for your business and have a great day!

I performed an AC tuneup on a 2007 Goodman system. The AC system is old but is in good shape, the compressor has a Had start kit and is running normal. The air handler is in bad shape, the capacitor is week the motor is loud and the blower wheel housing is really dirty. I did a blower wheel cleaning and replaced the motor and capacitor. I also replaced the high limit switch. The total static pressure was .087 when I left See health report card for more details.

Performed ac tune up. System is running well other than the compressor is over amping. Windings on the compressor are in bad shape. Do not know how much life is left. In them average life of systems are between 15-18 years. System is a 2002. You didn’t want to address and thing at this time I would strongly advise in looking at replacement over repairs.

I performed an AC tune up on a 2010 Bryant system. The system is working properly with no concerns at this time. See health report card for more details.

Found system with one coil completely frozen. The other was not working because of a loose connection on one of the contactors. I tightened those connections and the unit is now up and running as it should. I will return tomorrow to clean the coils. Returned to clean coils. Increased blower speed slightly. Unit is up and running upon departure.

AC tune up refer to health inspection report. Overall equipment in fairly good condition considering the age of equipment. Physically outdoor units fan showing some oil indicating the motor bearings are leaking the oil to keep it appropriately lubricated. Disconnect showing its age just weather and sun worn. System could benefit from having AC Renew to keep the oil running smoothly through the compressor. Indoor unit would benefit given proximity to water heater and plumbing to have a wet switch and a surge protector to protect the equipments warranty. No air purifier in the home this will help keep air clean and aid the filter in doing its job better. Recommendations refer to estimates.

I preformed an AC tune up today. The whole system is in pretty rough shape. The heat exchangers have a few cracks in them. I condemned the furnace due to them. The blower wheel is very dirty and the evaporator is covered in dirt. The temp split is 8 degrees out of the recommended range. The compressor is reading 20 amps high at start up. This has not yet begun to affect the capacitor. There is an open gas line in the mechanical room that is only closed off with a ball valve i told her that it should be capped off and is dangerous to have that open like that. Along with that there seems to have been a second water heater at some point. The flue is still there for it and is not capped off. it is connected the other water heater along with the two furnaces. This is also dangerous due to carbon monoxide being in the pipe. I recommend capping off the gas line and the flue. She did not want to do it at this point. Sharee is on her way out to give and estimate The AC was running when i lef

I preformed 2 AC tuneups today. Only thing to report is that both compressors are over amping at start up. It has not yet begun to affect the capacitors but it will if not addressed. I recommended a hard start kit for each unit to keep the capacitors at the reading they are at. The customer is going to talk to her husband and most likely call us back and have us put them on. I also recommend a wet switch to be put on the attic furnace to keep a water damage from happening in the case the drain plugged. Both AC’s where running when i left.

Came out for no heat found the gas valve is getting 14 volts to it but is not letting gas through. Gas valve has failed. Gave prices for a new gas valve and to do a bogo tune up on system. Options were declined today. System was not working when I left the call.

AC tune up refer to health inspection report. Rivets joints on heat exchangers are separating. Pictures taken for reference. Static pressure is very high total .95 inWC recommended from manufacture to be at .50 inWC. Ideally return side measures between .05-.15 if this were the case it would cause a positive trend downward, down the airflow chain. Ultimately the single most restriction is the filter. The static pressure where it’s at will ultimately effect the efficiency of our heat transfer for both furnace and AC systems. Compressor outside is amping a lot higher than expected especially with low ambient temperatures lower ambient temps typically mean lower amp draws because refrigerant pressures are lower. On start up it errors out amp meter. It has a very hard time kicking on. And is audibly noticeable when it does kick on. Checked Fan Specification Plate fan needs a 7.5 mfd rated capacitor the one in on fan side is a 5. Contactor has signs of burning and pitting recommend to pr

Came out for prepaid msc ac tune up. Filter was clean. Coil and blower are both clean. All electrical components are testing properly and working properly. Found the temp split is at 17 little on low end. Told tenant if we have issues to let us know. I cleaned out door condenser. See health report card. Ac was in working condition when I left the call.

Tyler B.
I preformed a ac tune up today, the only thing to report is that the static pressure was high. I believe this is due to a thick filter we just installed. I recommend to the next tech who comes out if they replace that filter to put in a lower merv rated one. The compressor was also over amping at start up, it has not yet begun to affect the capacitor but I recommend a hard start kit to help this issue. I have email some estimates over to the assistant to give to Jeff. He will be letting us know if he would like to go through with them. Ac was running when i left.

Wesley D.
Filter was really dirty. Which was replaced before I got here. Coil was really dirty. Cleaned coil and cleaned flame sensor. System doesn’t have surge protectors on it. Warranties do not cover surges. System is up and running well when I left.

Wesley D.
Performed ac tune up. Coil was little dirty along with blower motor. Cleaned coil and blower wheel. Installed new aprile air media filter conversion kit. System is running well. System doesn’t have surge protectors or any iaq. System is running well and is up and running when I left.

The 2011 york recieved a 29 point tune up. Duel capacitor weak. Blower dirty, not added ac renew, and no hard start. Today I did a tune up. I replaced the duel capacitor. The ac is ready to run this spring.

Jordan R.
Condenser needed to be leveled. Dual capacitor looks good small drop still within factory specs. Static pressure is at 1.0 furnace was not installed the best way. Customer knows what is going on and is going to keep up maintenance on the unit until they are ready to replace it. Everything else looks good.

Jordan R.
Replaced the dual capacitor on the AC unit and added a hard start to the AC unit. replaced the capacitor on the blower motor inside. The temperature split is good, static pressure is .80 and the filter is changed regularly.

Tyler B.
I preformed a full system tune up today. The furnace had water damage but was not affecting how it ran. The condenser staring amps was high, i put on a hard start and fixed this. The capacitor was reading weak and was replaced, the contactor had burning and pitting on it. It was also replaced. Along with those the condenser was noticeably slanted. I used vibration pads to level it back out. Nothing else to report. Both furnace and ac where running when i left.

Call back. Tankless water heaters not working again. Found the water heater on the right had a dirty Ignitor and flame sensor. Thought the problems were related yesterday but they weren’t. Cleaned the flame sensor and Ignitor. Watched both water heaters for quite awhile. Both appear to be working fine. Ran each heater independent of the other. This didn’t seem to make a difference. Tried to recreate any problems and could not.

I performed an AC tune up on a 2016 System. The system is working properly with no concerns at this time. See health report card.

2 Navien tankless water heaters located in the ceiling above the kitchen were not heating. On arrival both units were in a error lockout. The heater on the left was giving a circulation pump error. Found there to be air stuck inside the internal pump. Bled out the air and did a reset on the pump. This got it running again. The heater on the right was also in a lockout most likely caused by the fault in the other unit. After resetting and tuning both water heaters they are working properly. I suspect the left side unit had not been working properly for some time based on what the kitchen staff were saying.

Water heater not staying lit. Tenant says this has been a recurring problem for several months. The water heater is a newer low NOx water heater. These have been Utah code for only a couple of years. These water heaters were never designed to operate at our altitudes. They often have problems if the installation and environment are not exactly perfect. If the combustion air is not 100% as prescribed or if the venting is not exact they often have problems where older water heaters never did. The current venting on the water heater is not ideal and is pushing the design specs. The are signs of poor venting on the top of the water heater where the plastic grommets are melting. Possible solutions: - redo the venting for both the water heater and furnace. By increasing the vent size we can hopefully create a better draft to pull the flue gasses up and out. - install a shorter water heater to allow for better sloping of the water heater vent. - install a high efficient water heater suc
