Call for no cool. Found the condenser unit off and on testing of capacitor it had failed. Capacitor would need to be replaced for cooling operation to resume appropriately. Note as far as problems that can occur with a fan not operating appropriately, the units ability to cool the refrigerant is no longer present so heat continues to be picked up from the indoor coil and there’s no way of removing it appropriately and because of this problem the refrigerant retains the heat and begins to get extremely hot. When talking about refrigerant oil the oils has a certain temperature that it gets to before it begins to breakdown the molecular bonds holding the oil molecule together, thus rendering the oil useless in lubricating compressor appropriately. If this has occurred it may spell trouble for the compressor in the future. Capacitor replaced and system began operating appropriately. Amps are doing fairly well on both compressor and fan motor with no major red flags in electrical. As u
Came to residence for furnace tuneup on a '13 Bryant furnace located in the basement. Equipment functional upon arrival. Upon inspection, I found the 16x24x4 filter was very dirty and needed replacing. I also noticed the filter is a little short and should be replaced with a 16x25x4 filter for a better seal and better overall filtration. I also found the evaporative coil is very dirty and should be cleaned. The static pressure in the system measured high, likely due to the dirty filter and evaporative coil. All other parts and measurements are within their proper ranges at this time and the unit is heating well overall. I also took a quick look at the ac at the homeowner's request. The capacitor on the outdoor condenser is measuring at a 9.5% drop on the herm side and a 22% drop on the fan side. The manufacturer allowed drop is only about 5% and so the capacitor should be replaced. I also recommend adding a red T05 kickstart kit for 1-3 ton units so the condenser/capacitor to help i
MSC furnace tuneup. Performed full detail furnace tuneup. Overall the furnace is working well. Did find that the secondary heat exchanger is dirty. This will cause airflow issues that lead to overheating, AC freezing and inefficient heating and cooling. Recommend having it cleaned. Also included options to help protect the manufacture warranty on the furnace. The manufacturer does not cover anything related to power surges or similar. They also do not cover water damage from an external source such as a flood or leaking water heater.
I performed a furnace tune up on a 1999 Bryant system. The system is working properly with no concerns at this time. See health report card.
Reattached hose to fitting with clamp. Used a good tape to seal. Hose is nice and tight on clamp system up and running when I left.
