I had Justin and he was experienced with his work. He installed a new motor for my AC unit but the noise was so loud. Luckily he was on call the same weekend and was able to return and fix the problem quickly. He placed a brand new motor without additional cost. Very professional! Thanks Justin!
In 2019 do you like air-conditioning system not operating today due to a restricted filter. Filter was also installed backwards. Remember to install filter with arrow pointing towards equipment. System is also low on refrigerant. These two things couple together most likely froze the coil reducing the airflow dramatically. Performed an AC tuneup today. All capacitors and electrical components measure within specification. The blower motor does show signs of oil leaking. This also could be from a dirty filter causing the motor to overheat. I replaced the filter today. Before filter replacement the filter static pressure was 1.2. After replacing the filter static pressure is a .75. Sub cool on outdoor condenser is 0° this should be 11° per manufacture specification. Low refrigerant could be from not being charged correctly to begin with, or a possible refrigerant leak. Customer did not want to charge with refrigerant.
Came out for no cool. Found the fuse keeps tripping due to not enough refrigerant in system. There is also a dirty coil and not enough airflow in basement. We need to add a 10†round return and lift furnace up on box and add a 20x25x4 Aprilaire filter rack then we can charge ac properly. There also may be a leak in the system somewhere. System will not work right if we don’t fix airflow problems. Tenant reached out to home owner and i also emailed estimate over to get approval. If we do work send me and Wes for a full day if we finish early will let office know so we can run service calls. System was not working when i left the call.
Came out today because the upstairs AC was not blowing cold air. After spending quite a bit of time going through the unit I found that the capacitor was fried and not sending power to the compressor. I replaced that part and the compressor fired up with a manual bypass. I also found that the thermostat is not sending power to the AC and recommended a new thermostat. AC was not working when I left because of the thermostat issue.
Ac no cool. When I arrived on site the system appears to be low on 410a. Added Freon and cleaned condenser coil
When I arrived on site the coil was still frozen. Customer needs to let coil thaw out before having a service technician on site. The filter is completely covered and needed to be changed. We are going to see if changing out the filters once a month solves our problem. I informed customer that the coil could be freezing due to not enough airflow with the dirty filter. Thank you for choosing Western Heating & Air
Call for noise coming from indoor unit. On inspection found the noise was the condensation pump. This is a normal sounding pump when all is said and done. If it gets any louder or has problems with removing moisture from reservoir give us a call and we can come take a look at tit but as far as normal function this is what these systems do when a condensate pump is needed to remove water.
I performed an AC tune up on two 2016 Carrier systems. The main floor system is really dirty and the compressor capacitor was dead. After I replaced the capacitor, the system was running with a few issues. The blower wheel needs a cleaning and a new filter. The refrigerant levels are not right, this problem is causing the compressor to work extra hard, the reason the capacitor failed. The dirty blower can affect those readings. So doing a blower cleaning will be the start on dressing this issues. The upstairs system was really dirty and needed a new filter. I changed the filter, the system seems to be working well. The refrigerant levels seem low, it could be undercharged or the dirty blower. I recommend a blower cleaning as well. See health report card for more details.
This is a rental the owner is Amy Black. 801-885-7242 Amy Black. System is frozen in a giant block of ice indoor and outdoor units. Told the tenant we can not do anything until the landlord calls us out. Told her how to turn off the AC at the disconnect so it can begin to defrost.
Replace control board under warranty. System had a loose connection on L1 Terminal. This is causing the system to shut off intermittently. Found bad solder joint on back of board. System is under warranty Until next year.
No cool for upstairs system. Ac is completely frozen. Due to lack of refrigerant. Airflow is good. Because coil is frozen i can not charge system properly. We will be coming back on Monday between 5-7 pm. System is turn off and fan on to help speed up the defrost time. Once we come back we can charge system and find the leak. I took my refrigerant sniffer and couldn’t find it while i was hear. It may be in the evap coil.
Hard start price increased by $20 to come back out.
Came out for no cool. Found the whole system needed to be cleaned and filter was dirty. System was not moving enough air past coil due to being dirty. Gave options to clean coil and secondary heat exchangers and blower wheel. Also gave options for a box of filters. While I was here I performed a 30 point tune up and did all the cleaning. Static pressure is still high but better after I did the cleaning. Refrigerant levels are proper. Temp split is good. All electrical components are working properly and testing properly. Signed home up on wsc for 1 year 1 heat 1 ac. See health report card. System was working properly when I left the call.

Duct work and Aprilair filter 1210
Came out for no cool. Found the filter hadn’t been change for a long time. It was replaced upon arrival. I found the condenser coil was extremely caked with dirt and other debris. This is a intermittent problem with the AC freezing. Gave options to clean coil and wsc. Static pressure is good. Temp split is good. I also gave option for box of filters. System was clean and working properly when I left the call.
Call for water heater issues and something going on with the furnace. Found a set screw used to wedge to blower door switch closed permanently removed and moved door switch back and forth to ensure proper operation it moves freely and closes switch when door is placed on. Water heater does have a problem with the slope of the flue vent this would bea minor flue repair and would need to be addressed to ensure 1/4†of vertical rise for every foot of horizontal travel. Plus backside of flue since it is single wall vent pipe would need to make sure we are consistently at least 6†away from any combustible materials, there does appear to be some plastic foil a little too close on backside. The pressure relief valve is leaking water and give the he expansion tank has failed, no air comes out of valve indicating there’s air pressure to help with expanding pressure from heating water. So with expansion tank replacement we will need to verify homes water supply pressure and make sure t
The 2019 ac tune up. Evap coil may have a leak. I could see spots that looked like dye. She wants to change her filter every two months. If the unit freezes over we will need to replace evap coil. All capacitors good. Temp split 19 degrees. Ac running when I left.
The day and night 2015 ac msc tund up. Filter static high. Needs 4" filter. Duel capacitor at 6% drop. Today I did the tune up. Ac ready for summer.
I preformed an AC tune up today. The only thing to report is the capacitor is reading at its limit. This is due to the over amping compressor. I suggested replacing the capacitor and adding a hard start kit to prevent premature ware on the new capacitor. AC was running when i left.
Came out for inducer motor replacement. I replaced motor and it is not making loud noises anymore. All electrical components are testing properly and working properly. Added equipment in service Titian. System was working properly when I left the call.
Ice machine was not working properly today due to a loose connection on the start capacitor relay. This was causing the start capacitor to stay closed and over heat the compressor. I found and fixed the wire and also cleaned the machine. We also got prepayment for the quarterly maintenance on the roof top units.
AC no cool. Found the filter to be extremely dirty this could be the reason for a no cool so replaced to rule out that being a problem. Felt refrigerant lines in mechanical room once replaced and thermostat turned on and it still wasn’t indicating any cooling. On inspection of braze joints in mechanical right before evaporator coil did notice an oily substance around the insulation and braze joint, immediate red flag of possible refrigerant problem. Went outside and come to find out the compressor was not kicking on appropriately. Checked capacitor and it was still showing ok 43.6/45 which is a 4% drop still within manufacture specifications. Checked compressor windings and they were showing good. Tested windings to ground and winding are not grounded out. Suspected the thermal protection switch inside the compressor to be open so let equipment cool off and soaked with running water in order to help cool it down quickly, compressor still not coming on and given the signs of possibl
Abbie invited us out today for an AC tune up! The system is a Day and Night and was installed about 2 years ago. Overall the system is in really good shape. I checked for any unnecessary wear and didn’t find any. I recommended a hard start today to get ahead of potential capacitor wear. System was running upon departure.
Service call. System is not cooling. Turn system on and the refrigerant was not moving. Went outside and checked. The fan was moving but the compressor wasn’t coming on. Capacitor was bad. Check the windings on the compressor and they are in fair condition. Installed ac tune up kit. System is up and running. Check temp split and coil to make sure they were not dirty. System has a 21 temp spilt and evap coil is clean. Recommend doing regular maintenance on system and to change filter once a weak while they are finishing the basement and once a month once they finish the basement. System is up and running when I left.
